<continuation from the heart of the forest>
Blade walked through the thick brush and trees until he reached a clearing . He heard the roar of rushing water. He saw this magnificent waterfall just a few yards away. This would be a perfect spot to meditate and regain my focus Blade thought to himself. He took off his swords and laid them next to him. He then got extremely quiet and sat their concentrating. Black orbs surrounded his body. Suddenly he was alert with his swords out. He had had heard a sound behind him someone was trying to be stealthy and they had made a sound.

The Drow winced as the dry twig snapped under her staff. Quickly she became suave about it. Kossa grinned and leaned against a tree.
"Darn. You must have heard me." She responds to his drawn sword. She held her staff in her left hand and swatted at the gnats that buzzed annoyingly around her sensitive ears.

Blade glared at the drow but put his sword away. He turned his back to the drow and sat down focusing once again. "I was just trying to get my energy back" he said gruffly. The dark orbs surrounded him once again which showed extreme concentration counting on the fact he was talking to the drow. "So what does bring you up into the daylight?"

Kossa nods, giggling on the inside.
"I see." She observes. "Well. Lets just say I have troubles with my family down under." The dark elf watched the dark orbs surround the demon. She sat down and leaned against the trunk of the tree. Moss grew on the side of the tree that pointed to the village. The drow just watched and said nothing.
"Hmmm... That elf looked familiar. Not Krystal. But that purple eyed one..." She commented, not expecting a reply. "I think that there was a prophecy or somethin'."

"Its probably the prophecy of Sarnthia. It told of a maiden that had hidden power. Not much is known because the village was destroyed long ago." Blade spoke with a strain in his voice. It was hard to keep your mind blank when talking but he continued meditating. "Although I don't know the whole story. I never continued that part of my study." The orbs ceased and seemed to disappear. He grabbed his swords and sat down facing the elf. He brought out one of his blades and sharpened it.

"Of course... I forgot about that." The dark elf mused to herself. She remembers that day when she got news that the city had been destroyed. Back when she was still underground. She looked at the sword Blade was sharpening. "What kind of metal?" Kossa inquires, intrigued by the shimmer caused by the sun.
(( NO INNUENDO INTENDED. O.O!! ))

"Mythryl cast in the rim. They are my greatest posession. They were custom made for demons." Blade replied. He stood up and sheathed his blades. "Do you want to go batt-" He broke off. He realised that this drow probably wouldnt stand a chance in battle and only had a staff to fight with.

Kossa stood up. "I would be glad to battle with you." The dark elf clutched the center of her wooden staff horizontally. She then concentrated on the staff and ran her hands to the opposite side. When her hands pulled apart - the staff of wood became a staff of metal. "Don't worry about me. I can stand the chances." Kossa spread out her footing and tilted her now metal staff at a 45 degree angle.

Blade was unphased by this transformation and pulled out his swords. He just grinned at getting the chance to battle. He had heard a gargoyles before when he first came into this area. He had dismissed the sound before because he was out of energy but now he could destroy them with his new partner. He hated gargoyles for the reason they were a source of good magic. They were probably in the forest because there was a town nearby. Before he could set off into the deeper forest he saw a black figure zip through a tree away from him. He quickly unsheathed one of his blades and pulled the drow into the shadows with him waiting to see what the creature would do. His best guess was that it was another assasin or a theif.

Kossa gave a little sound of surprise from her throat. She was now in the shadows and she could see much clearer. Not perfectly - but close enough to make out something fast and black moving around. She watched its erratic motions.
"What... is... that.... It seems too agile for a human..." She muttered in a low whisper. Her peridot eyes continue to follow the thing.

"Maybe not a normal human but an assasin could" Blade said briefly. He watched the assasin move around swiftly coming closer there way. "Do you have any spells you could use so we could see him before he could see us?"

"Of course!" The drow grinned. "Shadow spells are my specialty. This one allows us to maneuver through the shadows. As the shadows... Just don't step into any light or else you will become visible. You can still deal damage. Its quite fun..." Kossa quickly shut up and whispered an incantation. Soon enough - the two were invisible to the mortal eye.

"Great. Now just wait and then we should be able to come out of the shadows. Its getting dark soon and the sky will get darker and we can move better." Blade watched the man stop in his tracks at his foes disapearing. He was still a few yards away and Blade was ready to attack when he heard something behind him.

Kossa grinned darkly as she chanted yet another incantation. An unnatural breeze blew through the forest. It surrounded the man and it appeared to restrict his actions. The human gave a shout of surprise. Kossa sent a mental sentence to Blade. If you are looking for the opportune moment - this is it. strike him. The assassin struggled to break free.

Blade moved slowly out of the shadows and watched the grimace on the mans face as he stepped out of nothing. Blade grabbed his sword and made one quick slash at the mans neck. In one quick flash the mans head was no longer in the same place but seperated from the body. The wind stopped as soon as the man was dead. Blade resheathed his blade and walked back to the shadows towards Kossa. "We should go stock up in the town"
